Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding day. This will be the most special, life changing day that nothing else will compare to. You have probably been dreaming about this special day since you were a young child, or it’s possibly a last minute occasion, but no matter what your plans, your wedding day is a momentous and amazing occasion.
It’s very easy to become overwhelmed with all of the numerous options out there, but it’s the knowing where to begin that results in a huge challenge. Victoria’s Chapel would like to offer our suggestions to help ensure that your wedding day will go by without a hitch.
One of the first steps you need to make, is prepare a checklist so that you can keep track of what is required, who is doing what and when it’s been completed.
Plan a budget
It’s a known fact that most weddings will exceed their budget. Decide on a budget for your wedding venue, meal and other services then allow a reserve fund of around 20% of the total cost for an emergency. This way you will be covered for all additional expenses, just in case.
Take expert advice
We know that not everyone can afford a wedding planner, but many wedding venues will have their own wedding coordinators, exclusively to advise on the exclusive components that make up your special day. How many guests, memorable photo settings, varied menu choices, hair and beauty packages, overnight accommodation for the bride and groom and other guests, these all need to be taken into consideration.
Share the planning
Don’t forget it’s the groom’s special day too, so make sure you involve him in the planning too. The more people you have to share the load, the less stressed and exhausted you will be.
It’s best not to leave everything until the last minute, unless you’re planning an impromptu elopement. Set aside plenty of time for planning, but don’t let it take over your life. This is just the beginning of your new married life together, so keep the planning exciting and don’t forget what this special day really means to you both.
